ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Admission requirements vary between different institutes and Universities, between diferent qualifications and levels of study.    Students are expected to have the following requirements met:   

 
Academic Qualification Requirements

Undergraduate: You need to have at least the equivalent of an entrance qualification which would admit you into a University in the country in which the qualification was obtained.

Postgraduate: You need to have an appropriate undergraduate degree from a recognised university.

English Language Requirements

A minimum English Language Competency level must be obtained, if you are from a country where English is not the first Language.  Educational Institutes in New Zealand recognizes the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Most Institutes will ask for one of the following :

IELTS (Academic) -    
1.    Foundation: 5.5 
2.    Undergraduate: 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each band                           
3.    Postgraduate: 6.5 with no less than 6 in each band

Students enrolling in for the Bachelor of Education or the ECE programs must have a score of 7 in each band.

TOEFL - paper test (not the computer test) score of 550, TWE (Test of Written English) score of 4 (paper-based test) or 213, Essay Rating 4.0  (Computer-based test)
